Artist's Statement and Resume

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Michele Melcher is a classically trained illustrator who has won numerous awards for her twist on traditional watercolor. Her ability to capture incredible detail and emotion in a medium considered by many as the most difficult has brought her recognition and praise everywhere she has shown her work. A master portrait artist, Michele is always open for commissions and new challenges.

“Nostalgia inspires me. Along with other antiquities, I view the historical value of the landmarks of Philadelphia and its suburbs on a personal level. Many people have a strong connection to these places. Although these landmarks may change ownership, structure or name, they still represent good times in people’s memories.”
